Joining The Porthill Players:

For more information about the Society and to find out when and where you can come and meet us, contact us via email or call Sarah Huckfield on 07737689450

Location of our productions:

Our rehearsal venues are changeable, depending upon the production. We usually perform at the Stoke Repertory Theatre.

Why should I join?

The Porthill Players has a very friendly family atmosphere. New members are always made to feel very welcome and they quickly become part of the family. Our aim is to produce the best possible theatre whilst having a huge amount of fun.

Do I have to audition?

You do not need to audition to join the society as a social member. However, you would need to audition if you are interested in performing in our next show. You don't need experience. If you are enthusiastic, committed and right for the part, you will be cast even if it is the first time you have ever turned up!

What if I don't want to go on stage?

Joining Porthill Players is not necessarily all about being on stage. Our members are actively involved in backstage or technical jobs – indeed some of them don’t want to ‘tread the boards'! So, if you have a desire to do stage management, set building, props, costumes, lights, sound, the front of house… don’t be shy, come and join us! No experience is necessary and training will be provided. There is always plenty to do and we are always looking for willing members.

How much does it cost?

Social Membership - £15

Active Membership - £20 or £17 for Students, unemployed & Senior Citizens

Active Membership applies to all those who are taking part in our current production.

Are there any age restrictions?

You must be 16 years of age or over to become a member of Porthill Players.
